A GLAMOROUS WEDDING WITH A TOUCH OF ROYALTY

We are thrilled to share Sameera and Amit’s stunning out of this world wedding with you! The big wedding was planned from start to finish by SAWC Planners. Our lavish complete planning package was the perfect fit for this occasion. The planning process began 18 months before the wedding day and the bride’s father, acclaimed Oakville-based dentist Dr Vineet Bhandari had a very hands-on involvement throughout the planning process. He came to us with a vision of giving his little girl the wedding of her dreams and our very first meeting comprised of budgeting and the inspirational board which truly helped to get us going. There were so many amazing details in this wedding that we’ve lost count of each of them but we’d like to take this opportunity to share a few special moments from the day with you!

If we had to describe the theme in one word – it would be “Mansion!” Sameera always wanted to get married at a mansion so it was all about creating a majestic, luxurious wedding and focusing on all the little expensive details. Take a look at the amazing pictures from the 2-day event below:

The celebrations kickstarted with the sangeet ceremony. The function was held at the Harbor Banquet Centre Oakville and interestingly Sameera had worked at the venue when she was a little kid! What a wonderful coincidence to then have her sangeet ceremony be at the same location! The décor inspiration here was everything Peacocks! Peacock colours were used for the décor and were by Dream Party Décor. A traditional jaago ceremony was also held during the sangeet and was followed by fun, entertainment acts by Tino, the violinist and medley dance performances by friends and family!

We cannot tell you about the ceremony without sharing pictures from Sameera and Amit’s first look photo shoot. For the location, a long-time family friend of Dr Bhandari had graciously offered to let the couple use their unbelievably gorgeous Oakville house as the setting. Once you see the pictures, you’ll see that it was very much in keeping with the mansion theme we had going on!

The ceremony was a beautiful affair. Sameera rocked the un-conventional bride like by opting to go without a dupatta for the wedding ceremony. Sameera’s dazzling ceremony outfit was from Bombay Trendz.

THE RECEPTION

The reception was designed keeping in mind the mansion theme. Oakville Conference Centre was the venue of choice and it was Dream Party Décor who brought Sameera’s vision to life. Known for being able to completely transform spaces, Dream Party Décor was the perfect choice for the stylish look. It was very difficult to find a wedding venue in Toronto and the GTA that would be able to accommodate a lavish, mansion them for 400 people. So, we got a dressed down banquet hall and transformed the space. Just look at that stage!

As the groom and his family and guests were coming from California, they wanted to show their guests who are so used to enjoying outdoor weddings (Thanks to the perennial California sun of course) that indoor weddings can be just as amazing! The best part about indoor weddings you ask? It gives you more freedom for beautiful décor and elegant adornments. Sameera and Amit clearly benefitted from having an indoor décor for their mansion themed wedding and reception.

Although originally from India, the groom and his family have spent most of their lives in California. The fact that they’ve been living in the US for so long didn’t stop them from making the wedding a traditional affair with all those little details that make Indian weddings so special. For the pre-wedding haldi or maiyyan ceremony for Amit, his family created a vehra which is a typical village scene in Punjab. The family did the decorations themselves and their attention to detail blew us away! Friends and family had a great time engaging in traditional rituals on Amit at the intimate and love filled ceremony.

The florals were provided by Lemon Truffle Designs! There were fresh floral centrepieces at every table and a really sweet gesture was that the guests could take the flowers home with them. And who wouldn’t want this gorgeous bunch?

The cocktail hour at the reception was the perfect time for guests to mix and mingle while enjoying delicious food, drinks and entertainment. There was an antipasto bar with many scrumptious items and was followed by a 4-course meal. All catering was provided by the Oakville Conference Centre and the gorgeous wedding cake was provided by Fine Cakes by Zehra. Take a look at the irresistible pictures below:

Now isn’t that just the most gorgeous cake you’ve ever seen?

The most touching moment of the wedding was the father-daughter dance. Dr Bhandari was a proud and emotional father and they shared the memorable moment dancing to Josh Groban’s beautiful track, You Raise Me Up. (We’re not crying, you’re crying!)

For Entertainment, which there was plenty of at this wedding: Sahil Khan, renowned flute player did a live flute performance during the ceremony. At the reception, there was a Big Blox ballet performance and the bride and groom had their first dance to John Legend’s All Of Me. The MC was a renowned TV host, Chris Mei and there was also a live 3-piece band – Freedom Train at the reception! Entertainment was galore all the way!

Sameera dazzled in her reception outfit! Purchased from the New Delhi Company, Sameera fell in love with her reception outfit. Even though we told her that the dress had been worn by several other brides before, she didn’t care about any of that! And on the day, when we saw her, we knew she had made the right choice! Sameera and accessorized the outfit beautifully with jewellery from Banglez Jewellery and we love that adorable way she styled her hair. She by bar looked better than any other bride we had seen in that outfit and looked every bit the princess she imagined herself to be on her wedding day!

Last but not least, a very special and important shout out to Alfaaz Photography for doing such an exceptional job capturing this larger-than-life fairytale romance!

Our closing comments come from the father of the bride, Dr Vineet Bhandari himself who wrote us a glowing testimonial afterwards!

My daughter Sameera got married on Aug 25th 2018. Before I retained Neha and her team (SAWC) as our wedding planner, I had interviewed 5 other planners.

With Neha, I had instant chemistry!

I started planning my daughter’s wedding 18 months ago, she thought I was crazy. I had hired Neha for the Wedding which 450 people attended with sit down family dinner and 225 for the Sangeet with cocktails, entertainment and dinner etc. Not once did I have to raise my voice, not once did Neha misguide me and my family, she was the absolute best, very caring and compassionate, and ALWAYS there for me. I could call her ANYTIME, I could request any MEETING, she was there!

I cannot thank you enough for your caring nature and getting me through this very tough emotional time. You met and exceeded my expectations. There is an old saying ” like likes like“, hence your vendors were also as spectacular as you were. Please don’t hesitate to provide my name as a referral to your future clients. Thank you, thank you, and more thanks for a job well done.”
